Benefit of virtual reality during visceral artery aneurysms open and endovascular surgery planning
This pilot study assessed the role of 3D virtual reality (VR) analysis in surgical planning for visceral artery aneurysms. Using Avatar Medical Vision, surgeons reported improved anatomical understanding, procedural planning, and anticipation of challenges, with VR influencing the choice between open and endovascular repair in 15% of cases. The findings suggest that VR is a practical, time-efficient tool that can support optimized treatment selection in VAA surgery.
