The Role

Avatar Medical is an exciting VC-backed MedTech start-up on a mission to democratize access to 3D medical images for surgeons, patients and students. Leveraging groundbreaking technology developed at the Institut Pasteur and Institut Curie, Avatar Medical uses advanced image processing algorithms coupled with extended reality (XR) to transform medical images into lifelike patient avatars. In the context of growth and the structuring of the Product team, we are looking for a Junior Product Manager, who will report to our Head of Product, Pauline.

Your future job at Avatar Medical:

We are seeking a Junior Product Manager to join our growing Product team of 2, contributing to the development of innovative medical technologies. This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role suited for someone with early experience in product management or project coordination, looking to grow within a complex and mission-driven environment.


You’ll support the Head of Product in executing on both strategic and operational tasks, contributing to product development, team coordination, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll also have opportunities to independently lead specific initiatives, including smaller product components, pilot projects, or studies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product & Project Coordination:
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Refine backlog items to ensure they are development-ready.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Provide timely clarification and feedback to the development team during sprints.
  • Balance stakeholder requests while maintaining focus on product goals and user needs.
  • Track project progress and proactively follow up on action items and deadlines.
2. Stakeholder Communication & Documentation:
  • Coordinate communication between internal teams (Engineering, QARA, Testing, Management).
  • Draft and maintain documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support preparation of steering and product committee meetings.
  • Participate in organizing customer and partner testing sessions.
3. Product Research & Validation:
  • Assist in gathering user feedback and synthesizing insights.
  • Help coordinate or support user research, usability testing, or clinical protocol development.
  • Contribute to competitive analysis, patent watch, and literature reviews.

This job is for you if...:

  • You have 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in product management or project coordination, or
    clinical/tech operations in a healthcare/medtech context.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (C1) and fluent in spoken French (C1).
  • Startup mindset, combining strategic thinking with a hands-on mentality and the ability to deliver results
    independently.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of medical imaging and regulated environments (e.g. MDR, ISO13485) is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of UX and User research is a plus.

Contract Type:

CDI (full-time permanent position) starting as soon as possible.

Location:

The position can be based in Paris or Saint-Malo, both with a hybrid working model, or fully remote in France.
