Impact of the Clinic of the Future on Patient Satisfaction and Conversion

What 99 patient consultations reveal about clarity, trust, and treatment decisions

For decades, the medical consultation has changed far less than the technologies behind it. Imaging has become more precise, yet patients are still asked to make complex decisions based largely on verbal explanations and flat 2D images. The “Clinic of the Future” aims to close this gap by bringing patient-specific 3D visualization into the consultation room—turning complex imaging into a shared visual language between clinicians and patients.

A recent white paper reports early results from 99 real-world consultations using Avatar Medical Vision, exploring how clearer visualization affects understanding, engagement, reassurance, and treatment decisions.

What changes when patients can see in 3D

Across the 99 consultations:

  • 92% of patients reported better understanding of their condition
  • 99% felt actively involved in healthcare decision-making
  • 100% said they would recommend the hospital and surgeon
  • 97% of surgical candidates reported deciding to proceed with treatment

These results reflect the proportion of patients selecting high agreement (4–5 on a 5-point scale) following consultations supported by 3D visualization.

When patients can see what clinicians see, conversations change. Anatomy becomes concrete. Questions become more informed. Confidence replaces uncertainty.

From understanding to treatment decisions

Beyond satisfaction, the data points to a link between clarity and action. Making medical images understandable at the moment of consultation supports shared decision-making and may contribute to stronger treatment commitment. While these findings do not establish causality, they highlight the potential impact of visualization and communication at the point of care.

Why this matters for health systems

The “Clinic of the Future” is not about adding more technology to the room—it’s about evolving the moment that matters most: the consultation. Clearer visualization supports better understanding, stronger shared decision-making, more reassuring conversations, and greater continuity of care through trust and confidence.
